Abstract:
A feasibility and optimization investigation is proposed for electromagnetic immunity and emission testing over the frequency regime of 10 KHz to 18 GHz. The proposed facility combines the cost-effective performance features of a TEM cell and a reverberation chamber. The feasibility investigation emphasizes the reduction of test result uncertainty in transition region between the upper limit of a TEM cell and the lower limit of a reverberation chamber. The investigation will include three design options and combines numerical modeling techniques, and analyses of statistical distribution functions for the electromagnetic environment. The feasibility of achieving an acceptable uncertainty in the electromagnetic environment in the transition region of a hybrid TEM/RC test facility will be evaluated in the Phase I effort.
