Abstract:
"All DoD organizations are facing intense pressures to deliver mission-critical information to the warfighter in a combination of type, contents and format that maximize information assimilation and facilitate rapid action. Semandex Networks has assembled ateam of experts in distributed computing and network software to pioneer a new category of information-distribution infrastructure based on the extensible Markup Language (XML) standard. The system automatically knows where content is and to whichdecision-makers it needs to be delivered, dramatically reducing the occurrence of information breaks. In this model, warriors at all echelons express their need for information, in the form of a set of Profiles, and the network automatically delivers tothat warrior those packets containing that information. The system effectively operates as an integrated, distributed, publish/subscribe system without the management and administration overheads of existing systems. It is the objective of this Phase I SBIR to determine the feasibility of extending the profile framework with a constantly adapting cognitive readiness profile (CRP) based on warriors' Cognitive Readiness Level (CRL). The CRP will be used to modulate theinformation flow, filtering it within a content-based network, providing an adequate match between the dynamic requirements posed by the warfigher's information needs and the description of the new situation. The CRP will be furt
