Abstract:
An ultrasonic based bone conduction communication system is proposed that will have negligible coupling of the exciter to the ambient acoustic environment or of the bone conduction microphone to ambient sound. This will significantly incease communication intelligibility in high noise environments and increase the stealth of communication in very quiet environments. The physics of the approach is well established and published research in the medical field provides initial exerimental verification of feasibility of the approach. In addition, appropriate coupling mechanisms are proposed that will provide efficient, robust and comfortable coupling of transducers to a wearers skull.Small Business Information at Submission:SHEET DYNAMICS, LIMITED
