Abstract

In Phase I, Sienna Technologies, Inc. has successfully demonstrated the feasibility of a novel family of materials to develop infrared decoys with tunable IR emission signatures. In Phase II we will expand on successful Phase I results by (i) investigating compositional and morphological variables and the process parameters to fine tune to desired IR signature, peak temperature, rise time, and duration, (ii) correlating IR emission characteristics to the surface area, chemical composition and thickness of active components, and type and thickness of the substrates, and (iii) fabricating fully packaged prototype IR decoys for Government testing.
