Abstract:

Not Available The proposed research will investigate the use of autonomous software agents to observe activities within the design process. These agents will be trained to monitor the transactions among and between design teams to establish a standard or accepted practice. This standard will be based on the history of the activities monitored by the agents, and will evolve over time as new activities are observed. These agents can then be trained to assist users by observing their activities, to infer their intentions, and to suggest to the user potential methods, techniques, tools, formats, or any other aid that might be useful in performing the intended task.
