Game Theory In Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD)

Sonalysts, Inc. proposes to develop a framework to apply game theory algorithms within a modified commercial simulation architecture in order to develop stressing engagement scenarios against which to measure the optimum employment of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) assets. This project will leverage Sonalysts' commercial simulation approach and technology to provide computations, graphics, video capture, and simulation for a BMDS operations model. The proof-of-concept will demonstrate the ability to vary the effects of enemy offensive launch timing, aimpoint location, and countermeasures employment, in a "complete knowledge environment," to the optimum employment of BMDS assets. The proof-of-concept will also include the ability to modify game theories themselves within the same scenario. Finally, this tool will demonstrate that the model development and execution processes can be bundled into a cost-effective, compact package for use during testing, evaluation, and conceptual development of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). The application tool will be a modular design to incorporate modifications and updates with changes in functionality, technology, and missions.
