Abstract:

This SBIR project will investigate a coherent imaging lidar system for measuring 3D wind fields using commercial off-the-shelf components. The system is designed to achieve high spatial resolution, enabling the measurement of eddy structures important in turbulent transport. The Phase I research will model the system to determine the conditions necessary to achieve accurate wind speed measurements and demonstrate the approach with laboratory measurements.
