Reactive Shaped Charge Liner

Specifically, the SBIR solicitation seeks to develop a reactive shaped charge warhead liner that will produce more damage in concrete and rock targets than aluminum liners. Surface Treatment Technologies, (ST2) has developed and patented new processes (Shock Initiation Devices Including Reactive Multilayer Structures, US Patent 7276354 and Reactive Shaped Charges and Thermal Spray Methods for Making Same, US patent 7278353) for the design and production of reactive materials for shaped charge liners. In the proposed Phase II program ST2 will work to demonstrate enhanced penetration of reactive jets into high strength concrete and hard rock targets using subscale shaped charge liners. As part of this effort manufacturing processes required to fabricate full size liners will be developed.
