Abstract:
Syntonics will demonstrate the feasibility of a broadband "DF Tarp." It can be a lightweight, rugged, fabric-like structure stretched on guyed poles like an awning or laid on top of a vehicle. It can be rolled or folded for storage. It can be fabricated in any color or camouflage pattern desired and many shapes - square, round, irregular - are possible. The antenna structure can be integrated into camouflage netting. The objective 30-10000 MHz frequency range is feasible. Because the antenna techniques we are considering can provide multiple directional arrays in one tarp, or can use separate antennas (tarps) spaced apart from each other, the DF Tarp antenna will be able to inter-operate with any existing DF receiver/processor.
