Abstract

SySense proposes the development, implementation, and test of optimization and real time guidance methodologies for the development of periodic optimal control applications. Periodic trajectories have been shown to reduce fuel use during loiter inturbo-jet types of aircraft. In addition, the ability to develop and fly periodic trajectories may be one enabling technology for hypersonic vehicles. A need exists for the development, implementation, and test of algorithms and methodologies forimplementing periodic optimal control in real time for subsonic loiter and hypersonic flight.
