SYSTRAN proposes to design, prototype, demonstrate, (all in Phase I) identify commercial sponsors, develop both software and hardware (accelerator card) IR-DOMS products, demonstrate both publicly, prepare market surveys and commercialization plan, and is based on designing two key modules. since the information system (IS) environment in manufacturing can be "non-object oriented" and contain "legacy" systems, we will design a "Object-MBM" module which will make, break, and manage objects from the underlying non-object-oriented IS environment. Object-MBM will be designed to follow the COBRA standard of the OMG. We will also build "interface layers" to make Object-MBM totally modular, scalable, and independent of the operating systems of the underlying computing environment. The second module will facilitate real-time distribution of objects to all the computers in the heterogeneous network. At SYSTRAN, we provide solutions using a family of real-time replicated share-memory networking product know as SCRAMNet. We will incorporate some of the real-time networking protocols from SCRAMNet in this Program and develop IR-DOMS. We will also build GUI through which the users can interface with IR-DOMS.
