Abstract

An innovative program is proposed that will incorporate unique high-fidelity models of Navy AEW platforms, sensors and algorithms, and of environmental interference and propagation effects into a powerful existing, Government- owned simulation. This approach will provide the Navy with a highly-capable, customized software tool to simulate operating environments using USGS/DMA digital terrain databases and to predict the performance of space-time adaptive processing (STAP) algorithms. The simulation will operate under the Khoros Graphical User Interface (GUI), It which all functions are available to the user in the form of icons, or glyphs. The proposed effort will allow the Navy to take maximum advantage of over four years of ARPA-sponsored STAP simulation development, and over 1.5 million lines of validated, documented software. Because TSC can exploit this prior development, the simulation can be provided in a very timely manner and will immediately provide a very high level of capability. The Phase I effort will define the software enhancements and the transition of the simulation onto the Navy's computers; the Phase II effort will develop, install and document the code.
