Abstract:

With the increasing technical maturity of smaller, lighter high-resolution sensors and small tactical UAVs, it is highly desirable to collectively employ these low-cost assets to perform ISR missions. These missions include wide area surveillance (WAS);tracking of time critical targets; final, close-in precision combat ID; and terminal guidance of weapons. Small UAVs, combined with advanced sensor suites, are much more affordable than either manned or larger unmanned air vehicles, and are well suitedfor missions that are too
