Abstract

Toyon Research Corporation proposes to develop algorithms that will provide a continuous identification of ground vehicles through moving and stationary states. These algorithms will receive detections with signature information from synthetic apertureradars (SAR) and high-range-resolution-ground-moving-target-indicator (HRRGMTI) radars. The detections and signatures will be processed over time to form a continuous track of target vehicles even if they are traveling amongst other vehicles. This will bedone using innovative approaches to signature-aided tracking with both HRRGMTI and SAR signatures. The output of the algorithms will consist of a list of target locations and identities in addition to a set of sensor task requests. The sensor task requestswill provide feedback to the sensors so that they can be focused on particular regions in particular modes. For instance, when a moving target track is lost, a spotlight SAR request may be made to acquire the target in its stationary state. In addition todelivery of the algorithms, we propose to deliver a testbed to AFRL. The testbed can be used to evaluate the algorithms that we develop as well as other algorithms and concepts such as the tanks under trees (TUT) effort.
