This SBIR will focus on developing a practical computer workstation radar and radar environment model that can be used by the Navy Aegis program. Primary emphasis will be on modeling the SPY-LB radar with the ability to easily handle enhancements. A major part of the software system will be developed from existing, well-tested, software, thereby greatly reducing development and validation time, and an operational system, including a set of realistic target models, will be delivered as a Phase I product. The radar environment model will include the ability to use accurate RCS and dynamics models of typical targets, including TMD threats, air-launched missiles, and aircraft. These capabilities will be derived from existing XonTech radar simulation software. The workstation system will also include existing, tested, XonTech RCS prediction codes to enable new targets to be modeled. The workstation system will accommodate sea clutter, impact and deployment debris, jammers, and chaff, again based on existing, well-tested, XonTech software. The operational workstation to be delivered in Phase I will form an especially robust starting point for Phase II development of additional simulation capabilities.
