Abstract:
Cosite interference mitigation approaches are described for use on the AAVC7A1 amphibious combat vehicle to allow simultaneous operation of its C3 and navigation radios at HF, VHF, UHF, and L-band. An optimum cosite interference mitigation system architecture design is proposed which combines adaptive interference cancellation with frequency hopping bandpass filtering. This innovative approach optimally protects all the radios from degradation of voice and data reception due to the cosite interference. The proposed cosite solution uses just seven antennas to accommodate all 13 radios on the AAVC7A1. This Phase I program will investigate hardware and software trade-offs in the system design to optimize its performance, characterize the optimized system performance, and define the system sufficiently for subsequent Phase II implementation and test.
