Abstract
This proposal presents techniques previously developed by Zeger-Abrams Inc. (ZA) that are directly applicable to the reduction of intermodulation product (IMP) distortion in a multicarrier power amplifier (PA). The use of adaptively controlled feedforward cancellation is proposed, plus the use of ZA’s unique multichannel frequency-agile ultranarrow notch filter in the PA to suppress IMPs that lie in the receive channels of collocated receivers. This Phase I effort will characterize the performance of a PA with and without these IMP reduction techniques for 2,4, or 8 simultaneous signals, culminating in a recommended best-value approach for Phase II implementation.
