Abstract:
This proposal exploits nano-materials to achieve exceptionally high energy in an 18650-size cell. The successful development of this cell will provide the Army with the highest energy density cell commercially available for years to come. This advancement in the cell capacity will lift military batteries to the next level and will have a significant impact to the outcome of the future battlefield since the battery is one of the key factors in the digital battlefield. The higher cell capacity simply means longer running time for some devices or longer range for some weapons, which is vital to our soldiers on the battlefield.
