In this proposed work, goal of Hood-Impact Systems (HIS), a joint venture (JV) between Hood Technology Corporation and Impact Technologies, LLC, is to simplify and accelerate the analysis process which creates information from the data generated by strain-gages and blade-tip sensors in turbo-machinery tests, either on test stands or in spit cells. This goal is motivated by the observation that significant differences currently exist between promptness of results from various test groups performing this data analysis, and sometimes even between the values of the information produced from the same data. The fact that different groups perform this data-analysis task with various levels of success, suggests that advances in this area are possible, even beyond the level currently achieved by the most-successful group. Phase I work focused on software tools intended to aid in data analysis and test execution. Phase II Base efforts will take these modules to the next level where they will interact with one another as well as the new modules planned in the Phase II workscope, in a seamless manner for a high-level of functional integration between modules. The Phase II Option portion of the workscope will seek on-engine / spin-cell opportunities to demonstrate the software system.
