Abstract

Visidyne proposes to design and develop a prototype rendering system for the visualization of stochastic cloud images for use in Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) applications. Using numerical integrals fo 3-dimensional or volumetric cloud properites the system will determine the radiometric and stochastic characteristics of the images and then generate 2-dimensional realizaitons. In Phase I Visidyne will demonstrate this approach by producing scenes in the visible and IR using volumetric properites from a simplified cloud model. In Phase II Visidyne will extend the prototype system for operational use.
