Sensor Atom Configuration Software
The software system, Sensor Atom Configuration Software (SACS), will use of knowledge management techniques through ontologies capturing knowledge about sensor atoms and 3D targets, advance algorithm design, and concept of operations to allow for flexible sensor system design and predict sensor performance. Sensor atoms are the fundamental unit of a sensor embodying the most basic properties in terms of temporal, spatial and spectral resolution. SACS will allow the user to chose multiple types of sensor atoms and define properties such as spatial layout and operational objectives, which will form the building blocks of a sensor configuration. The output of the sensor configuration will then be simulated with a 3D target. Features extracted from the simulated output will then be sent to performance algorithms to determine the ability of the sensor configuration to detect the 3D target with classification algorithms.
