Abstract:
The overarching objective of our proposal is to demonstrate that the Navy can achieve significant improvement in torpedo detection, within the relatively stringent operational and cost constraints of planned SSTD systems, by applying innovative active sonar technology. Phase I tasks concentrated on definition of the innovative system concept and enabling technologies, and analysis of the feasibility of proposed improvements. Phase II will concentrate on development of a prototype system for CAS demonstration and analysis of resulting data.
