Range Tracking System
EMAG Technologies Phase II SBIR proposal addresses the United States Armys need for a mobile tracking system capable of providing real-time Time Space Position Information (TSPI) for small missiles, rockets, aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for use on test ranges across the country. Our proposed system overcomes the limitations faced by current radar systems used to track low-flying targets on test ranges and extends these benefits to a large range of ballistic projectiles as well aerial vehicles. The proposed system is capable of all weather operation, including accurate tracking in dense smoke, torrential rain, and driving snow. The system is inexpensive, inherently easy to deploy, low-maintenance, and low-cost. The system is compact and scalable making it possible for integration of this tracking system onto UAVs and other mobile platforms. The system is ideal for tracking UAVs and can therefore be used to enhance the current C4ISR capabilities of both mounted and dismounted commanders.
