Abstract

A programmable universal pulsed power source capable of delivering voltages up to 50 kV, current up to 1 kA, pulse durations of 100"s of ns and repetition rates of 10"s of kHz is proposed to meet near term high powered RF research and development efforts. The concept is proposed to reduce development cost, while also reducing the amount of time to develop new pulsed power sources to meet changes in the load design. The proposed system will be computer controlled, for real time changes in the pulsed power system.
