Abstract:
The Phase II effort will fund development of a single disk Nutating Engine paired with an alternator system, that will operate as an auxiliary power unit (APU). The Nutating Engine/Generator will have target power of 5KW with a power density of 13.9 kW/Cu.Ft. and will be designed to run on heavy fuel (diesel, JP-5, JP-8). Development will include engine design, generator system development, assembly and testing of a prototype unit.
