Abstract:
For efficient space operations, and for effective space force enhancement to terrestrial forces, Aerospace Operations Center (AOC) personnel must be continuously aware of the status of on-orbit assets, payload coverage, reacting to system degradations andfailures, and responding to intolerant environments for satellites. To complete the situational awareness picture, there is also the need to depict terrestrial threat types, locations, and envelopes, as well as blue force operational data, to optimize thesynergistic effects derived from using space assets to support land, sea and air operations. We see an opportunity to use existing data streams and other available information to provide improved situation awareness to AOC personnel through the use ofreal-time systems employing agent technology, cognitive, behavioral, and decision-making sciences.
