The desire of the US Air Force to identify and strike Time Critical Targets (TCT) as quickly as possible, has resulted in increased research into sensors and armament for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), and into the algorithms required to support this new technology. When equipped with computer vision technology, the role these play in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) can increase exponentially the speed at which information can be gathered and fused into mission planning and in the Air Tasking Order (ATO). 21st Century Technologies has undertaken the Passive Acquisition, Tracking, and Handoff of Ground Moving Target Indication (PATH-GMTI or simply PATH) project to develop methods to reduce the amount of data necessary to perform automated targeting and to develop the Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) algorithms required for unmanned strike vehicles to accomplish their core operational goals. RTSFM generates all the information needed for PATH to perform passive electro-optical GMTI. PATH expands the capabilities of the RTSFM system by enabling UAVs to perform real-time ground moving target indication using innovations in 3D modeling and reasoning. 21st Century Technologies, with its expertise in advanced image processing, is uniquely positioned to fulfill this solicitation’s requirements.
