Abstract

Phase I showed the feasibility of developing of HFPB Debris Throw Models for Ordnance Storage and Handling Facilities using the Material Point Method (MPM) as implemented in Los Alamos' CartaBlanca code. In Phase II, a version of CartaBlanca will be installed on the Navy's supercomputer and be validated to simulate the debris thrown from a reinforced concrete (R/C) structure due to an uncased internal detnoation. In addition, a prototype fast-running R/C model will be delivered that can replicate HFPB debris throw simulations for a small R/C structure.
