Abstract:
This Phase 2 project will develop and integrate intelligent controller technology into the Navy's Undersea Warfare-Decision Support System (USW-DSS). Technologies to be developed include (1) XMAP cross-platform sensor data fusion, (2) XMAP contact state estimation, and (3) common tactical picture (CTP) synchronization. XMAP track-to-track association innovations include its ability to exploit features, classification, and kinematics information in a consistent mathematical fashion. XMAP state estimation retains the multi-dimensional contact feature set for the fused track. CTP synchronization software leverages the USW-DSS services-oriented architecture by providing a Business Processing Execution Language framework to execute intelligent data mining across all platforms in the ASW strike group. We will complete early integration of prototype software in the USW-DSS Build 2P shore test bed during the base period . We will conduct quantitative assessments of SBIR technologies in this environment using at-sea recordings from operationally relevant exercises. During the Option 1 period (Year 2), we will develop software in compliance with the USW-DSS Build 3P architecture. These software components will also be built to operate under the PEO C4I Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES). During Option 2, we will complete integration in Build 3P and support at-sea evaluation of intelligent controller technologies.
