Abstract:
THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO MARKEDLY INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY OF PRODUCTION OF OZONE BY GAS DISCHARGE TYPE OZONE GENERATORS. CURRENTLY, THE LOW EFFICIENCY OF OZONE PRODUCTION, 5 TO 10 PERCENT OF THE THEORETICAL MAXIMUM WITH DRY AIR AND OXYGEN FEED GAS, HAS LIMITED BROADER USE OF THIS POWERFUL OXIDANT AND DISINFECTANT. THERE IS INCREASED INTEREST IN OZONE BECAUSE IT IS ENVIRONMENTALLY COMPATIBLE AS IT DECOMPOSES INTO OXYGEN AND PRODUCES NO CARCINOGENIC COMPOUNDS. THERE IS INCREASING CONCERN ABOUT TRIHALOMETHANEFORMATION WHEN CHLORINE IS USED FOR WATER AND WASTE WATER TREATMENT. THE EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM IN PHASE I WILL BE DIRECTED TOWARD INCREASING OZONE YIELD WHEREAS THE EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM IN PHASE II WILL BE DIRECTED TOWARD DEVELOPING A HIGH YIELD GENERATOR MODULE WITH HIGH PRODUCTION DENSITY. IT IS EXPECTED THAT THE TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPED WILL BE PATENTED AND MADE AVAILABLE TO MAJOR MANUFACTURES OF OZONE EQUIPMENT IN THE FORM OF A LICENSE TO MANUFACTURE AND MARKET AND/OR IN THE FORM OF AN ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER MARKETING ARRANGEMENT BETWEEN ADELPHIAND A MAJOR INSTALLER OF OZONE SYSTEMS.
