Abstract:
Prodrug-based drug delivery systems have the promise to augment the efficacy of compounds with limited bioavailability to solid tumors. We propose a unique approach for a targeted prodrug delivery system. The system has the potential to deliver other therapeutic agents as well. We propose to explore the feasibility of this novel approach towards enhancing the efficacy of therapeutic agents for breast and prostate cancer. The ultimate goal is to demonstrate increased bioavailability at the tumor site and decreased toxicity to the patient.
