Abstract:
While there have been a number of recent advances in track precision and maintenance via the AMSTE program, long-term track maintenance remains an elusive goal. Track breaks are primarily the result of miss-detections due to micro-obscuration from foliageand buildings and or due to the vehicle dropping below Minimum Detectable Velocity (MDV) because of parking or stopping at intersections and yields. These unpredictable areas of miss-detections and the resulting track breaks are a tracking fact of life andhave gone largely un-addressed.ALPHATECH's proposes to continue the successful Phase I effort to develop and refine new High Range Resolution (HRR) scoring technologies that connect the resulting track segments and the use of road map information to help in the nomination. Aditionally,ALPHATECH will design innovative target motion models, methods for inferring probability of detection maps and regionally adaptive tracking techniques that are necessary for a system to maintains situational awareness on high priority targets.
