This Phase I project proposes the development of a reference architecture and software infrastructure repository for fire control systems. The repository will be established using adyanced software technologies, such as Domain-Specific Software Architecture (DSSA) technology and software engineering technology so that the architecture and software components will be reusable, portable, compatible, reliable, and maintainable in the ftre control domain. The domain model and reference architectures will be described and implemented in the ObjecTime development support environment to cover the whole fire control system analysis and design procedure. The emphasis will be on the development of reference architectures and software toolkits for the fire control mission, Our efforts will also be directed to explore and extend the ObjecTime software with the ability of formally describing the processor, the reference, the domain architecture and models as well as the hardware components. Commercialization of the Phase I results will be pursued. The major commercial products include DSSA support tools and common architecture and software components for reuses in various applications. Also, the developed techniques will be transferred to the development of our commercial product: Real-Time Control and Simulation (RTCS) system. This project will produce DSSA application development support tools which can be applied into large-scale commercial software development, such as medical systems, accounting systems, banking Systems, manufacturing systems, etc., and fire control software components which can be reused for other government programs, such as the DoT's AVHS program and the FAA's TCAS program.
