Abstract:
We will investigate and develop an interactive multimedia program for alcohol education targetedtoward children in grades 7, 8 and 9, inclusive. The program will contain interactive multimedia thatintegrates audiovisual technology, text, and graphics with computer simulated human interaction tocontrol activities and to monitor user responses to computer generated questions. Phase 1 technicalobjectives include development of a program with interactive multimedia presentation technology,selection of a public access bulletin board for the distribution of the program, and formative evaluationof the system with regard to ease of use and short term effects, such as knowledge and attitudechange.
