Abstract:
This Small Business Innovation Research Phase I project will integrate a FLIR model (GT-Visit), a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) model (XPatch), representative FLIR classification algorithms, and representative SAR classification algorithms along with the development of decision fusion algorithms to quantify performance benefits of additional sensor information. The performance will be measured for SAR alone, FLIR alone, and for the combined SAR/FLIR using decision fusion techniques. An analysis of these results will provide the basis for future research and development into multispectral fusion techniques. These models and algorithms will be integrated into the Khoros/Cantata environment. Additionally, research will be conducted to identify target-based features appropriate for feature level fusion. This research will provide a basis for future feature level fusion techniques to be developed and tested. A top-level design for a multispectral fusion simulation system in which to conduct information fusion and automatic target recognition (ATR) algorithm research and development will be produced. system
