Abstract:
: The development of enhanced pulsed power sourcse that have the capability of delivering high voltage pulses with extreme pulse repetition rates and variability in peak voltage and pulse-to-pulse timing is critical to Test and Evaluation programs. The objective of this research effort is to continue development of the Gatling Marx generator system. In Phase I, the feasibility of sourcing a variety of high voltage antennas from a single generator was demonstrated. Phase II will continue the concept of sourcing multiple antennas from a common source, but with intense and variable repetition rates made possible with the Gatling source. The Phase II effort will focus on a complete prototype system, making the source controllable from remote positions.
