Cyber Assets in the Battlefield Network: Situational Awareness of Mission Critical Computing Resources
Agency / Branch:
DOD / DARPA
In Phase I of this SBIR we have taken several significant steps in the development of a Cyber Assets in the Battlefield Network (CABN) system by identifying military and commercial use cases, developing and getting feedback on a variety of notional visual display mock-ups, and identifying commercial and military transition targets. Our first commercial market will be the wireless (WiFi) security and we have secured an agreement with a WiFi vendor moving into Phase II to provide us with a data feed through which CABN will visualize the geographic, network, security, mission, and social flow contexts of cyber assets. In Phase II we will refine our user requirements, implement the designs we developed in Phase I, and integrate our prototype with a military system. Because we are designing for transition into existing military tactical display systems and require a commercially viable approach, we have developed an essential component strategy. Our approach is modular by design - developing geographic and information visualization components that leverage the data sources of and can be integrated into our partners' existing systems, into existing military systems, or into a stand-alone system singularly or in concert.
