Abstract:
Computer-generated forces can play a key role in Distributed Mission Training (DMT), allowing warfighters to practice team and team-of-teams coordination without involving hundreds of live players. In order for CGF units to live up to their potential forDMT, however, they must be easy to create, modify, and use. The major innovation of the proposed project is its use of team performance research to create CGF nodes that can function effectively as team players. Aptima, a leader in team research formilitary environments, is working with BBN Technologies, with expertise in developing human performance models for military simulation environments, to create usable and capable CGFs for distributed team training.
