Abstract:

An attractive approach for IED detection is to deploy inconspicuous, unmanned vehicles traveling at normal highway speed that can detect, discriminate, and localize IEDs and transmit data to a remote operator. Arete Associates and Applied Research Associates propose to combine their proven hardware, analytical, and theoretical capabilities to develop and demonstrate a unique and versatile magnetic system capable of meeting the rapid survey requirements of IED detection.
