Abstract:
"Argon Engineering proposes to design a family of low probability of intercept/detection (LPI/LPD) data links capable of conveying analog (voice) and data (video and sensor data) in line-of-site (LOS) and over the horizon (OTH) modes for Special OperatingForces (SOF) tactical users using Joint Threat Warning System (JTWS) radios.Argon Engineering intends to research and design novel software definable transceiver and computer architectures based on the next generation of Digital Receiver Technology, Inc. (DRT) technologies augmented with Compact PCI (cPCI) Field Programmable GateArray (FPGA) /PowerPC processors. These architectures will permit the innovative incorporation of both the sensor and communications link in one device and will provide processing power needed to generate LPI/D communications via wideband featurelesswaveforms. Argon Engineering envisions multiple opportunities for commercializing the communications links developed under this SBIR.
