Abstract:
The team of ARTIS, LLC and Brandeis University will address three primary objectives in Phase II. We will determine side effects and after effects of decoupled motion and virtual environments in the laboratory, in a Ship Motion Simulator (SMS) and, in theOption Phase, at sea. Second, we will develop a high-accuracy, low-latency, miniaturized MOCOVE device. Finally, we will interface the device to selected Navy Virtual Environments. In conjunction with Naval Research Laboratory experiments, we willdemonstrate the efficacy of coupling the virtual and physical environments to reduce the after effects of decoupled motion and virtual environments.
