Not Available Military operations often require personnel to work in environmental conditions which subject them to weather extremes. Often operations take personnel from water to land environments and vice versa, over extended periods of time. A concept for an Advanced Technology Exposure Suite (ATES) is proposed, which uses smart materials to control the degree of protection offered to the wearer, depending on environmental characteristics.
