Abstract
This SBIR solicitation provides the opportunity to specifically look at AN/SSQ-53G sonobuoy subsystems, investigating how our community can miniaturize the existing and required subsystems to provide margin for the development of a new passive directional array. Within the scope of this proposal, we will discuss how SeaLandAire and USSI will systematically and thoroughly address the AN/SSQ-53G sonobuoy subsystem architecture to create the required volume for advanced sensor integration. A byproduct of this effort will be a focus on cost-reduction and performance advancements, as there are seldom opportunities to address the entire architecture of one of the 4 staple sonobuoys.
