Abstract
Quantum Network Technologies (Qunett) is developing technology for the integrated preparation, control and measurement of large arrays of solid-state diamond defect quantum systems that can be used for applications in quantum sensing, communications and computing.Ā In response to the DoD 24.4 SBIR BAA, Qunett proposes to perform a study evaluating how our current scalable, room-temperature RF quantum sensing platform can be customized and packaged to realize a rapidly deployable RF receiver for applications in standoff remote sensing (radar) and RF communications.Ā The objective of the study will be a system design for a low-size -weight -power (SWaP) RF receiver with enhanced sensitivity over that which can be achieved with state-of-the-art analog semiconductor components.Ā The sensitivity achievable with the system design will be validated by quantitative analysis led by our quantum engineering team bringing more than a decade of expertise in quantum sensing using diamond defect technology. Specifically, we will investigate how to leverage our patented technology for individually addressing millions of diamond defect centers in a single nano-fabricated sample for delivering an ultra-sensitive, wideband, channelized RF receiver in a compact, man-portable package.
