Abstract
Repairing damaged equipment that requires highly skilled labor and the use of specialized, stationary CNC machinery is difficult, if not impossible, to accomplish in the field, outside of a specialized shop, in a timely manner. Air Force personnel often need to repair, manufacture, or even demolish mission critical equipment expediently in a variety of precarious environments. Current CNC machinery is often heavy, stationary, expensive, limited in single function/material capabilities, and/or requires specialized training to operate. CN-Seamless has developed a portable, easy to use, automated, highly versatile, and affordable fabrication platform called the Mach 1. This proposal seeks to adapt the Mach 1 to meet the fabrication demands of the Air Force, with software that will guide the users through the fabrication process, from design to execution, enabling all Air Force personnel to repair, manufacture, or demolish equipment or infrastructure in even deployed, austere environments.
