Avionics flight tests are critical for evaluating weapon systems in operational environments not cost-effectively emulated in flight test. This proposal is for an AATEAS designed to provide the tools necessary to obtain optimal results during avionics testing using established techniques in various test environments. The core of the AATEAS is the Master Workstation (AMWS). This is a mini/macro computer-based station having sufficient memory, processing capability, and interconnects to develop simulated/stimulated signals, read/process second or higher generation flight test data, combine time correlated flight test and simulated data, create hybrid stimulation data streams, and perform statistical/graphical sanalysis. It is an open-system architecture, maximizing the use of COTS/NDI instrumentation and software, and functions as an integrated "hot bench." The Portable Work Station (APWS) is a rugged version of the AMWS designed to modify and generate simulated/stimulated data streams and perform analysis during "on aircraft" ground tests and in flight. During test activities, the simulated/stimulated signals are provided by the Programmable Avionics Subsystem Emulator (APASE), a black box with modular processing and memory that can be connected to any generation avionics architecture via Smart Interface "Components (ASIC). The Data Analysis Element (ADAE) is an integrated, memu-driven package of COTS/NDI analysis software.
