Abstract

We proposed to develop an application development framework based on mobile code language called Agents, Agencies, Artifacts, & Appliances. The key innovated feature of this framework is the support for development of collaborative applications and the support for higher level design patterns rather than low level user interface construction. The framework will be based on an object oriented MIT scheme like language. It will support development of agencies- a place where individuals and applications can collaborate; agents-programs that implement domain specific frameworks; artifacts- higher level views on databases; and appliances-semantic models of tools. Furthermore, the language in which the framework will be developed called Simple supports a number of design patterns as described in "Design Patterns", by Gamma et. al.
