Abstract

This project proposes to develop an advanced non-leaching antifouling peel and stick appliqu¿ coating system. This system will simultaneously provide unique antifouling properties with outstanding corrosion protection. The development of this coatingsystem will center on the application of novel infusion nanotechnology previously developed at Integument Technologies, Inc. Integument's nano-infusion technology allows the controlled incorporation of permanent interpenetrating networks of nano-materialsinto various polymers thus providing unusual self-cleaning properties as well as unique chemical and biological surface activity. Effective coatings that are resistant to marine growth will have significant market potential in both military andcommercial applications. We believe a product can be developed which can be applied easily to the surfaces of most Naval and Marine vessels
