Intellectual Property and IP Valuation, Presented by Darrin Maddox (CPA) and Bob Ryan (Attorney), 1:00-4:30 p.m., Rogers Auditorium, Desert Research Center, 755 C East Flamingo Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89119, $25 refundable with attendance.

Inventors and innovators of many stripes have good ideas and perhaps even started a small business to derive strategic advantage from their intellectual property (IP). Many developers are still seeking insight into the value of their patent, copyright, brand and other IP.  Having a reasonable expectation of valuation for innovations is important for many reasons. If you plan to sell the IP you need to strengthen your negotiating position and optimize the value of the deals you think you can negotiate. If you aren’t ready to sell the IP, you may need to assess your revenue goals and to determine what size investments in it are reasonable. A Nevada lawyer and a Nevada CPA discuss the basics of intellectual property and how to value it for sale or licensing.

Presenters are Darrin Maddox, CPA, Eastern Sierra Professional Group and Bob Ryan, Attorney, Holland and Hart LLC.
