Introduction to the NOAA SBIR program
Time: 10-11:30 a.m. CST
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program provides critical, early-stage research and development funding in the form of contracts for a range of environmental technologies with strong commercial potential. The NOAA's goals used to determine SBIR topics include: Climate Adaptation and Mitigation, A Weather Ready Nation, Healthy Oceans, Resilient Coastal Communities and Economies, Stakeholder Engagement, Data and Observations, and Environmental Monitoring. The next NOAA SBIR solicitation is scheduled to open in October of 2014.
This webinar will address key content to include in SBIR proposal applications including the importance of including strong letters of support. Also to be discussed is the review process used by the NOAA. The webinar will address common issues that present challenges for new SBIR applicants and offer guidance regarding how to plan ahead in order to ensure successful completion of major steps within the application process.
The webinar will be led by Alan Rhodes, NOAA SBIR Program Manager.
Following a 1-hour presentation, Alan will engage webinar participants in a 30 minute question and answer session.
